English Medium School
Shree Vitthalrao Joshi Charities Trust’s English Medium School was established on 13/06/1998Since then it has been progressing towards betterment. It was started with just 14 students and now within a few years the number of students have reached around 700 with trained 30 teachers. Our school has a model of infrastructure in education system.
Shree Sant Digambardas Maharaj had dreamt to provide education to the children in rural and educationally backward area like Dervan. He had also investigated that the youth from rural areas cannot shine at state and national levels. So he wanted to improve the situation. His disciple, P.P. Shree Kaaka Maharaj turned his dream into reality by establishing this English Medium School, because he has a strong belief that only due to lack of English language proficiency the children from rural society cannot succeed at national levels. So we must offer to the society what it needs. Today we have nursery to std.10th classes.
This School is much different and more productive. Our special features are –
- This school makes great efforts to enhance the overall personalities of the students by encouraging and guiding them to appear for various competitive examinations such as –
- Middle and High School Scholarship; our students appeared in merit list of High School and Middle School Scholarship Exam.
- Drawing Competitions by Kalavikas Sanstha, Khed
- Handwriting Competitions by Kalavikas Sanstha, Khed
- We organize various competitions on National and international days, festivals stressing the importance of the particular day such as Essay Writing, Elocution, Debate, Quiz, Recitation, Handwriting, Conversation, Chanting Abhanga, Story Telling, Drawing, Preparing Rakhees, Greeting Cards Etc.
As the society changes as per the time and adds the new wings to its existing pattern, our school also provides the advanced technology to the students in order to develop their potential and to keep them with the time. - The facility of computer education is available, 21 computers with 3 printers and other accessories have already been purchased. A nominal fee Rs.50/- for lower classes, Rs.150/- for higher classes is charged for 6 months.
- Our School Library is a precious treasure of world class books including Children Encyclopedia, Scientific Information, Moral Education, Biographies, Space Information Etc.
- Theoretical knowledge is not enough. Hence we organize Science workshops for the students from std.I to std.X. Students are motivated to develop scientific devices using simple materials.
- A special provision of teaching Marathi and Sanskrit languages from Nursery has been made.
- Our students have been trained to develop vermiculture project and have obtained excellent manure from it.
- Our school has its own Telescope.
To bring out the hidden talent in the students & preventing them from merely becoming a book-worm, school introduces various skillful physical activities such as –
- Horse Riding – The school has introduced Horse Riding. For this three young horses have been purchased and two trainees have been appointed. We are very proud to share with you that our elder students can ride the horse confidently and bravely.
- Mallakhamb – Students are being trained free of cost in Rope Mallakhamb & fixed Wooden Mallakhamb by two experts in this field appointed for the purpose. We are proud to mention that our four players were selected to demonstrate in a grand function held at Red Fort, Delhi in front of Hon. President of India, Hon. Prime Minister of India and Others on occasion of completion of 150 years for the Revolution of 1857.
- Rifle Firing – Trust has introduced Rifle Firing training for the students.
- Classical and Folk Dancing – is taught by expert dancers regularly.
- Aerobics has introduced recently.
- Zanj & Lezim Pathak – A project of playing Zanj & Lezim has shown vivacity in school life. School has a band of 80 students along with big Drums, Dhol, Tasha and 80 Pairs Of Zanj.
- Trust conducts “FreeSchool Feeding Program” to all the students.
- We offer concession on the rates of school books and uniforms.
- The trust has a permanent scheme of Teachers Reorientation Program.
- Free guidance cum workshop camp for S.S.C. students is conducted every year for the benefit of students in the entire district. Question sets are distributed free for all the participants.
- School conducts free workshop for middle school and higher school scholarship exams for students as well as for teachers, twice a year. Question sets are distributed free for all the participants.
- School provides purified drinking water, as it has water purification plant.
- The school has two separate hostels for Girls and Boys adjacent to school. Each building is with Ultra – Modern Infrastructure and costs about one crore each.
- Free quarters have been provided to all teaching staff in the campus.
- Trust has its own alternate power generation system in case of failure of power supply.
- Trust also has a modern sewerage water purification plant.
- Books written on National and cultural heritage are published by our trust at highly subsidized rates.
