What an eye opening experience this has been for me ! Being from a small town in mid west, USA, this has been my biggest journey in life so far and what a great one it has been! I really had no idea what to expect coming into this and what I've seen has really given me a new perspective. Walawalkar hospital is really an amazing place. I have learned so much about the culture and healthcare in India. The doctors and staff are all so incredibly helpful and kind. We could not have felt more at home. I spent much time at the operating theatre and got many opportunities to work on my skills. The OPD's were also a favorite of mine. I will never forget this place and will hopefully be able to return again after I have finished school. What this hospital does for its' patients is truly remarkable. Thank you for everything !

Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity! Working here has been both a privilege and an adventure. I have encountered pathology and surgeries not found in the U.S. and have gathered experiences I will cherish for a lifetime. The doctors, nurses and staff have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome and their kindness and hospitality cannot be overstated. I m proud to have share in the service BKL Walawalkar Hospital provides to the surrounding community and hope to come back again.

My experience here at BKL Walawalkar Hospital has gone above and beyond all of my expectations. From the impressive facilities to the warm and welcoming staff, every aspect of my experience here has been amazing. This clinical rotation has given me the opportunity to learn about tropical diseases and learn about the differences in the way medicine is practiced and delivered in a rural area. The selfless attitude of the staff is reflected in each and every department and community program and has truly been an inspiration. It is my hope to return to BKL Walawalkar Hopsital in the near future as a practicing provider to contribute to the great service this hospital is providing to its' people.

We cannot thank the physicians, nurses and staff enough for their patience and hospitality both in and out of the hospital. This was a first time trip to BKP Walawalkar Hopsital and first time to India as well. The experience has been extremely rewarding to see how the hospital works to overcome the challanges faced in a rural community. I believe we have taken for granted the accessibility we have to healthcare as well as our ease of transportation in Chicago.
Though we were extremely far from our own homes, the physicians and staff could not have made us feel at home. The structure and closeness of the community built here has also been inspirational to see everyone so dedicated to a common cause. I enjoyed and appreciate how all the physicians were so open to allow us to share time with them in OPD, the OT, as well as the wards, radiology and various community visits. In addition, I was blown away by the hospitality of the village communities we visited. It is more rewarding to treat patients when we also have a better understanding of their home life.
Thank you to all for sharing your hospital, hospitality and culture with us. Truely an experience to carry for a life time.
