Business Guidance Workshop
This workshop was arranged on 26th August 2007 for Kankavali division. Guidance was given on Household / Small Scale Business for rural women. Around 250 women from the nearby rural areas participated in it. The workshop covered the following subjects -
- Wholesale Purchase & Sales of goods
- Bio-Fertilizer Project
- Sales of Agricultural Products & ByProducts, i.e. Flowers, Flower Garlands
- Sales of Food Products
- Sales of Woollen Products
- Production & Sales of Liquid Soap
- Production of Leaves Plate, Brooms
- Production of Decorative Articles
- Animal Husbandary & Dairy Business
- Tea Shop
- Imitation Jewellery

Cotton Garlands Workshop
This workshop was arranged on 1st September 2007 at Samarth Mangal Karyalay.
Mr. S.K.Rane (Conductor, Rajya Parivahan Mandal, Kankavali) was trainer for this workshop. Various types of Cotton Garlands were taught to the ladies. Around fifty ladies were benefited by this workshop.
Mahila Mandal & Bachat Gat Melava
SVJCT’s & B.K.L.W.Hospital’s REACH project started in Sindhudurga district from April – 2007. Under the project, 30 Bachat Gats and 15 Mahila Mandals in Kankavali & 28 Bachat Gats and 14 Mahila Mandals in Kudal were registered on the day. All these Bachat Gats & Mahila Mandals were gathered together on 2nd October 2007 at Samarth Mangal Karyalay, Kankavali.
Smt. Kalpana Sawant (Adarsh Shikshika Puraskar Prapta) was Chairperson & Shri Vasudev Raghunath Kajarekar was Chief Guest for the function. REACH Staff & Gynecologist from Dervan participated in this function.
Function started with Deep Prajwalan by honourable dignitaries & Shree Guru Namasmaran.
Shri Kajarekar spoke about Advantages of Bio-Fertilizers & Drawbacks of Chemical Fertilizers as also about Turmeric & Vegetable plantation. Mrs. Ojas Samant (REACH Project Incharge) briefed about the progress of B.K.L.W.Hospital. Chair Person Mrs. Kalpana Sawant briefed about Bachat Gat and Mahila Mandal by citing examples.
Mrs. Sulochana Jambhavadekar was Anchor of the function. Mrs. Veena Kajarekar expressed Vote of Thanks. Mrs. Nilima Gavade, Ms. Shital Rane, Ms. Jyoti Ghadigaonkar, Ms. Kirti Ghadigaonkar were the organizers of this function. Many Bachat Gats and around 250 women actively participated in it. Various products made by rural women were displayed in the function. Function dissolved with ‘Sadguru Digambardas Maharaj virachit Varyachana’
