Radha is the elder one of the five year twin babies. Her father, Mr. Kishor Jadhav, 30 yrs. old man is engaged in labor farming and doing causal work. The family resides at Dugve Taluka, Chiplun District, Ratnagiri. His wife Rupali Jadhav, 25 years old woman is a house wife. Radha is her first issue. Some days ago, Radha had a boil on her forehead. Nobody paid any attention to it for quite some time. After a few days, the abscess spread over her forehead and covered half of her face. Then her father and mother took her to the nearest private hospital. The doctor tried to treat her for 2-3 days and when he saw that it is beyond his reach and did not see any improvement, he told the patient’s guardians to refer to the B.K.L. Walawalkar Hospital, Diagnostic & Research Centre at Dervan. She was brought to the hospital in a critical condition. She had fever and the increased fever caused loss of consciousness. She also had a spasmodic attack twice. The increased puss spread over the face, behind the right eye through lacriman sac abscess and finally reached up to the brain, which was ascertained by the C.T. scan. The baby was immediately admitted in the I.C.U. and treatment was started in the B.K.L. Walawalkar Hospital. The antibiotics are being given to her. The fever came under control and no convulsion has happened after that. It is difficult to say how many days it will take for her to get cured. This family is coming from socially, economically and educationally under privileged class, as classified by the Government of India under its Resolution. The B.K.L. Walawalkar Hospital is providing treatment on humanitarian ground. The guardians are made aware of her condition. Total expense incurred so far is Rs. 5635/- and Walawalkar Hospital has granted concession of Rs. 3135/-.

Shashikant Bhalchandra Ghag, 35 years old person residing at Vaniwadi, A/p. Dahiwali Budruk, Taluka – Chiplun, Dist: Ratnagiri is mainly engaged in casual labor work. Some times people do not even pay his labor charges or if they pay, they pay very less amount. So he does not have any fixed income. His wife Mrs. Sanika, a housewife, delivered first female child; but there were complications [1] (Primi) postdated P.I. with meconium stain liquor with fetal distress in labor. [2] B.P. was 140/100, was raised to 160/100 and hence emergency L.S.C.S. was done. Secondly, the baby was having weight of 2.75 Kg. Because of muconium aspiration, after treatment, it was transferred to the female ward. Second time, the baby was transferred to NICU for phototherapy and again transferred to female ward. Now both the child and mother are well. The bill incurred for the treatment of the mother was Rs. 6,945/- and a concession of Rs. 6,445/- was given to her. the patient paid only Rs. 500/- Baby’s bill was Rs. 3,770/- and was entirely borne by the hospital.

Mrs. Lalita Dhavde, 45 years old female from Ganeshwadi, Khend, Tal: Chiplun was admitted in the Kamthe PHC (Primary Health Centre) due to suffering from loose motions. The doctor treated her for 3 days and then referred to the B.K.L. Walawalkar Hospital for further treatment.
On examination it was found that she had an Acute Gastroenteritis and severe dehydration, that caused Acute Renal Failure and hence Acute Abdomen Diagnostic Sonography was done, it showed Renal calculus with hydronephrosis and ultimately D.J. Stenting was done.
Mrs. Lalita Dhadve is having 2 sons, one is serving in the shop and other is studying in school. Her husband is not doing any job.
The total bill of the patient was Rs. 13,395/- and due to her poor condition, concession of Rs. 6,741/- was granted to her.

Mr. Balkrishna Mahadev Dingankar, resides at Kudali (Dingankarwadi), Tal: Guhagar, Dist: Ratnagiri with his wife Saraswatibai. They have one daughter and their elder son died 10 years back. So Dingankar family is having only one helping hand of their married daughter. Mr. & Mrs. Dingankar went to their daughter at Khodade village to meet her & her family members. Daughter is a casual laborer in their fields and nobody is looking after her children at home. Unexpectedly Mr. Dingankar was collapsed in the bathroom; his daughter was in the field. Their neighbors came there and took him to the hospital in a conscious condition with a laboured respiration. Oxygen saturation was maintained and hence the patient was intubated and put on ventilator. His diastolic B.P was 90-100 and heart rate 120/min. The patient was non-diabetic but hypertensive and was known case of COPD. Due to severe breathlessness and long standing hypoxia, patient became unconscious. After being properly ventilated, patient became conscious. Patient was extubated on day 5 and was maintaining saturation on face mask. His total bill was Rs. 25,230/-, concession given by the hospital is Rs. 20,230/- and only Rs. 5,000/- is paid by the patient.
