A patient’s medical needs are often greater than their ability to pay. Many of life’s most significant, highly emotional moments happen in a hospital. From a trip to the emergency room, to a recovery from a serious illness, to the birth of a new family member, every member of a community is touched by the hospital at some point. With this reach into people’s lives, a hospital plays an essential role in an area’s quality of life and provides a source of community identity and pride.
